Have u ever had a deathly series of sneezes that are just bent on giving u the most unpleasant sleep/less experience of ur life? U wake up every hour and a half from a very serious runny nose, trembling from chains of sneezing whilst all u wanted was to sleep the bug off.

Well, my little late night adventure with the bug didn't involve quite that much sneezing, that was just an analogy cos I would think that being awakened by some really irritating sneezing would b somewhat more feasible than suffering an entire night of the most painful sore throat in the world, combined with a leaking blocked nose. Sounds disgusting, doesn't it? The description is just disgusting as the experience.

Believe me, I've had some very painful sore throats before, but last night's was unbelievable. I never thought a sore throat could b that agonizing!

I'm sorry, I just get a tad whiny and in need of some loving when I'm ill.

Talking about loving, I'll never forget a very thoughtful act of concern a friend showed when I was in secondary 2.

I sprained my ankle in school that day so I had to leave early and couldn't attend cca training. So as I sat at home, wallowing in my swollen foot after a session of acupuncturing, the door bell rang which got my dogs in an uproar. I then heard chatterings of 2 very familiar voices amidst a bundle of commotion. It was YuanLing, my cca-mate, and Eileen, my bestie then. They took time out after training just to drop a surprise visit on poor old me all cladded in tattered home clothing, and looking quite pathetic with a small cast around my ankle, hobbling down the staircase. But I have to confess that that was one of the sweetest things a friend ever did for me in times of physical crisis, and of cos, I would give a little more credit to Eileen, knowing that it was probably her idea in the first place to come see me. (Ok, Eileen, stop smiling now! I knw u are!)

But also, I thank everyone for showing that small bit of care and concern for me today! 'Twas very thoughtful of u all indeed. =)

Anyway, there wasn't anything particularly intriguing on TV today, so I decided to try and discover how to cook the perfect half boiled egg. However, in my feat in trying to do so, I wasted 3 perfectly good eggs which my mum now wants be to buy back. PFFT.

My first egg, I let it cook for only 3 mins, which was what I witnessed the woman at Ya Kun Kaya Toast did!! And I thought it wld work if I imitated her, but sadly, I couldn't have been more wrong. When I cracked open the egg, it was as good as if I were to crack it open straight after I took it outta the fridge. So I let my second one cook for 5 mins instead. That turned out pretty alright, though there were still bits of gooey uncooked egg white swimming amoungst the already cooked. For my third egg, I took it straight outta the fridge and threw into the boiling water thinking that 5 mins would do fine, forgetting that I actually took the first 2 eggs outta the fridge 10 mins before I started to cook it. And, u would expect of cos, the egg turned out even worse than my second one with the vile looking uncooked egg white more than the fraction which was cooked. So finally, I decided to b extremely patient with my 4th egg, seeing that we're already running outta them. I restlessly waited a staggering 11 mins before I scooped the egg out, and there u go!! The perfect half boiled egg! Not a sight of uncooked egg whites! I was so proud of myself! =D

And from that, one can conclude that Valerie T is clearly not a born chef!
